Pimp Hand Productions
We have no disclaimers. You may find the word pimp offensive but we don’t care. Chances are you’re just a square who is nickel and dimin through life but for those with the insight and open mind, We invite you to walk with us… for we will take you there. We embrace the word pimp and elevate it from it’s pejorative origins. To us, the word pimp embodies the mastery over anything in which you excel . You make the damn thing work for you … come rain, hail, sleet or shine. Now many are pimps for a myriad of reasons. Some are adept at amassing money while others have the gift of gab that leave women with jet lag. But for us, we of the Pimp Hand way, we pimp the music, which is our way of life … and we pimp it well.
After many years in the District of Columbia’s thriving underground music scene, both as spectators and innovators, it came to us like sirens in the streets that we should pack the floors and make the beats. Ranging from new schoolers to veteran house freaks and thus the Pimp Hand was born. With a signature sound championed deep in the smokey dungeons of 1808, the founding members, Hodd Coxx and Pat Luv developed an elixir for pure dancefloor bliss consisting of funky basslines and percussions with a punch. As the founding members of what was to be Pimp Hand Productions, their love of the gospel according to house brought them in contact with other talented artists who shared the same vision, the same drive but most of all the same love for the game.
The Pimp Hand sound is a four part journey that takes you from the starry climes to the deepest depths of the jungle. First you feel your head nodding, like sleep in reverse you are coming alive seduced by the build-up of progressive house, followed by the gliding rhythms heralding your descent to the emerging angelic vocals of soulful sounds. You then feel the tribal chants of the earth, it speaks of primal hedonistic debauchery until you find yourself on a path straight to the melodic bowels of soulful drum n bass. Four Dj’s individuals in their own right, but bound to the Pimp Hand sound.
